SEPT 5 - Pac Modern's SPF Showcase
On Friday, September 5th 2006, PAC Modern would like to extend to you an invitation to their first ever hip hop dance showcase and celebration, SPF! What began as just a small fundraiser in the winter for a team of REALLY, REALLY, REALLY broke college students based out of Cal St. Long Beach has transformed into this summer’s newest event! With a desire to extend an even bigger hand to the youth of our community, PAC Modern had a chance to open up PAC Camp, which normally operates during winter, to all aspiring youth performers in the Southern California area. Instead of the three week dance workshop held during the winter, this summer PAC Camp was extended to an eight week dance camp designed for the performer and first time performers, with classes for everyone in mind. At the climax of PAC Camp, they will have a chance to display what they learned and showcase their talents on stage at PAC Modern’s first ever showcase, SPF! Yes, you will see 170+ PAC Campers take the stage! The dancers have been split into four different groups and will be performing four sets that evening. They’ve been working so hard for this and they’re such an awesomely talented and motivated group of young artists! You have to come see this! Besides the PAC Campers, SPF will also feature other prominent youth performance groups and other projects in our community.

It’s going to be a special night not just for us, but for the kids as well. They’ve been rehearsing with us every Monday and Wednesday for the past six to seven weeks, and you can see the growth in them as well as the joy they have when they’re dancing. It truly is an inspiring thing to see. We’d love it if you were there to see that as well…
Here’s a couple videos to give you an idea of what’s in store…

RESULTS - Battle of Seattle 7 Auditions
First and foremost, thank you for comin out to audition for the 7th Battle of Seattle. The audition combo you were given was probably the hardest combo I've ever seen at an audition. Thanks again to Anika, Cobey, and Brian for choreographing, teaching, and breaking down at the audish one of the sickest combos realized, conceptualized, and embodied to become a visually performed art.
You guys had a lot of eyes on you with me, former Cruz Control dancers and my friends in Breed LA (visiting for Nick and Anna's wedding) in the room, so I know it was nerve-wrecking specially for those who were auditioning for Battle for the first time. You all did great and it was fun watching you guys.
Here is the audition result. Congratulations to:
Kelly VandenEkart Emily VandenEkart Jenna Summerfield Samantha Whidby Christie Schmidt Andrea Burr Chanel Ramirez Kristiana Waxham
Brad Jackson Aaron Gordon Jaquan Price Braidon Hobzek Jon Burdine Will Tieu
Again CONGRATULATIONS!
Meet & greet/rehearsals start this Sunday Sept 7, 5-8pm @ WDC. See you then!
***MAKE-UP AUDITIONS in CLASS*** This is an audition for those who were not able to make it to the original audition on Sunday (not how well you can put your MAC on. LOL)You may take my class as an audition on the following days only:
Bring a headshot and resume. Wear RED (whether its a scarf, a hat, shirt, shoes, shorts, etc) and let me know in the beginning of class that you are auditioning. Write down your AGE, EMAIL, and PHONE # on your 1-page resume and I will let you know when your first rehearsal is. Thank you in advance.
See you there!
If I were to die and come back, I would be your tears. What more could a man want than to come from your heart, be conceived in your eyes, live on your cheeks, and die on your lips.
